My story

I grew up in a suburb of Southern California where I did not have a lot of access to public lands, however, I had a deep love and respect for the non-human natural world instilled in me. Community gardens were frequent in neighborhoods and schools and in high school I got the opportunity to help build and maintain an aquaponics greenhouse system on our campus. This was my first true introduction to the interconnectedness of natural systems and the importance of biodiversity, and I have been in love ever since. Growing up my free time was shared between the southern California coast and the Mojave Desert which kindled my passion for a dramatic landscape and of course, Sagebrush!

I am now a senior at Boise State University majoring in Environmental Studies. I am a founding member of the Environmental Club at BSU and the current president. Since my time in Boise, I have had a lot of great opportunities to work in the environmental field such as the Idaho Conservation Corps, the Bureau of Land Management as an Andrus intern, and now with Conservation Voters for Idaho. I am so excited to see where this work will take me as I begin to navigate the political aspect of our environment.
