My Story

I’m a conservation voter because my life was shaped by Idaho’s outdoors and I believe everyone should be able to experience the smells, sounds and magnitude of Idaho. As the daughter of a Boy Scout Troop Leader, I spent many of my weekends and summers exploring our state.

My introduction into policy work began in college while working for Boise State University’s student newspaper, The Arbiter. I became very interested in the correlation between local journalism and voter engagement. During this time, I did an internship with the nonprofit Semilla Nueva and spent a summer interviewing Guatemalan families about sustainable agriculture. I translated and wrote up those stories, which were later published on the Huffington Post.

After serving as the Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief of The Arbiter, I graduated from Boise State University and began working for the Idaho Press as the Meridian Press Reporter.

As a runner and hiker, my life revolves around the seasons in Boise. When I’m not out on the trails, you can find me reading in a coffee shop, playing my guitar, or trying new recipes.

Work experience

My professional experience has focused largely on relationship building, clean energy and communications. I recently spent two years working in the energy sector for POWER Engineers, specializing in energy storage. Before that I covered government affairs, growth and education in Meridian for the Idaho Press.
