My story

I’m a conservation voter because I want to make a difference in the world – and that includes working to protect our beautiful natural environment and helping shape the political environment in Idaho to be more balanced, moderate, inclusive, equitable and kind – both for my own family and current residents of Idaho, and for future generations.

Spending time outdoors makes up many of my best life experiences. Favorite childhood memories include trips with my Mom and sisters to Redfish Lake in Stanley or the Wood River Valley. I fondly remember visiting my paternal grandparents in Coeur d’Alene and spending time on the lake or hiking.

All these outdoor adventures fostered a deep love and appreciation of the natural environment of Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. I’m passionate about continuing my exploration of this beautiful region and sharing that with friends and family like my nieces and nephew.

Background

I’m proud to have built over 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector. A highlight of my career was my 16 years with Idaho Public Television, most recently as their Philanthropy Director for 10 years. I’ve gained broad knowledge of fundraising and development leadership – including membership, volunteer coordination, events, major gifts and planned giving. I worked to connect philanthropic donors with organizational mission and funding priorities, built and stewarded relationships with donors, volunteers, board directors and colleagues, and set strategy and team planning in motion to increase revenue and donor count.

  • University coursework at Portland State University and Boise State University, with an emphasis on communications and multidisciplinary studies.
  • Human Rights Certification through the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights
  • Serves as an Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Idaho Chapter Board Member.

Interests

In my free time, I re-charge by spending time outdoors — hiking and going on adventures in Idaho, the Pacific Northwest and beyond.  I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and my 3 cats (Abby, Lancelot and Bastian).  I’m a “foodie” and enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops.
