Nisha Jae Newton, they/them/their, holds many identities, such as being a Black, trans, queer survivor of violence. They carry a compelling skillset in leveraging their identities and lived experiences for empowerment throughout Idaho. They are ecstatic to learn with & from community members to build liberation for conservation practices and policies across the state. Because caretaking of the land is in tandem with caretaking for each other, Nisha is deeply excited to work in this space together. As a community organizer and social justice strategist in Boise, Nisha cannot wait to share interconnection and interdependence amongst social issues so we can create a world of thriving for Idaho’s descendants to inherit.
