Campaigns and Elections
At Conservation Voters for Idaho, we are sure of one thing; who we elect matters. Our more than 15,000 members across Idaho understand that safeguarding our water, air and natural places protects what it means to be an Idahoan. We all rely on our elected officials to make decisions that preserve the Idaho way of life. Our economy, the health of our families, and our treasured way of life cannot be sustained without sound investments and smart policies. In order to carry out our mission to ensure that Idahoan’s can count on our elected officials when it comes to our clean air, clean water and our public land heritage, we are the only Idaho conservation organization that has the ability to directly influence the outcome of elections.
We work tirelessly to ensure that Idahoans have somewhere to turn with questions about who is looking out for them and who isn’t. We educate the public about conservation politics, advocate for conservation policy in the statehouse, and hold officials accountable for their actions. Conservation Voters for Idaho does this by talking to voters about the conservation issues that matter most. Whether it’s making phone calls, knocking doors, or mailing voters information, we put resources where it is needed most.

Each year, CVI endorses candidates based on their responses to our political questionnaire, voting history, and proven support for Idaho’s public land heritage, clean energy, clean air, and water. In Idaho’s 2019 municipal elections, ten of our endorsed conservation candidates were elected to office with our Boise mayoral candidate heading into a runoff election.
