Sen. Schmidt is a physician and a businessman who has a track record of working to build healthy communities.

As a hunter and fisherman, he values public lands. As a grandfather, he is deeply interested in fully funding our public schools. He has successfully championed better systems for keeping our communities safe.

Schmidt is also on the powerful Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee where the Idaho Legislature makes most of its critical budget decisions.
