Conservation Funding

The outdoor recreation economy = big business.

Idaho’s outdoor recreation industry is an important piece of our state’s economy, helping to generate $2.5 billion annually, supporting nearly 40,000 jobs, and contributing $1.3 billion in annual wages and salaries. We’re working hard to ensure conservation dollars remain a top priority for our state and that local communities have the resources they need to connect to federal conservation dollars.

Conservation Voters for Idaho is committed to expanding and protecting state and local budgets for conservation and outdoor recreation. We are also working to connect city and state governments with national funding sources like the Land and Water Conservation Fund, and to ensure those funds are equitably distributed across all communities.

Connect communities with federal conservation grants

We connect Idaho state and local governments with essential conservation dollars, such as the Land and Water Conservation Fund. We also advocate for those funds to be equitably distributed across all communities, especially those that have less access to green spaces.

Mobilize Idahoans to support conservation

With our year-round Voter Outreach Team, we educate and mobilize Idahoans to support conservation dollars, connecting them with their representative to ensure their voice is heard.
