Dr. Sarah Hendricks is a Idaho Science and Technology Policy Fellow working with the Idaho Governor’s Office of Species Conservation. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sarah currently lives in Moscow, Idaho. She received her PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from University of Idaho where her research focused on using genetics as a tool to better understand wildlife. She believes this fellowship is a unique opportunity for a direct education on becoming a more active participant in the policy decisions required to address pressing challenges facing Idaho communities. She is looking forward to gaining a better understanding of how to advocate for environmental issues on boards and commissions. Sarah loves to spend time traveling with her partner, hiking beautiful Idaho, and foraging for mushrooms when they’re in season.
