Meet the 2023 Boards and Commissions Fellowship Cohort

Margaret Szeles

Margaret Szeles is a recent graduate from Boise State University, where she studied political science and environmental studies. Born in Boise, Idaho, Margaret is proud to continue her public service work in the community where she was raised. Margaret is a transportation planner for a local agency, where she works in long range planning and programming.

She applied for the program because she wants to learn how to represent environmental interests and diversify representation on Idaho’s transportation boards and commissions. Margaret is passionate about working at the intersection of environmental justice, multi-modal transportation, and community development. In her spare time,

Margaret loves to go for runs on the greenbelt, bake cookies, and tend to her house plants.
