After graduating from high school in Southern California, Clairemarie Owens moved to Idaho to pursue her education at Boise State University and continued her education in Paris, France, where she earned a degree in International Tourism and Hospitality at the Catholic University of Paris. She then spent the next 10 years working as a Tour Operator and International Event Planner living in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Miami, Mexico and on a sailboat. In 2019, she opened her own travel and event agency Nova Voyage based in Garden City, Idaho. Most recently, Clairemaire the Juneteenth Planning Committee in 2021.
Clairemarie’s travels inside and outside the US have given her a unique perspective of the many issues facing our community today; however her ties to Idaho run deep. Her Great-Great Grandfather moved to the Treasure Valley during the Great Depression looking for a better life and her family has been living and working in the area ever since.
Clairemarie Owens is passionate about bringing people together to celebrate community, to learn from one another and to create connections that improve the lives of all people. Clairemarie applied for the Boards and Commissions Fellowship in order to gain the skills to better represent her community in addressing those issues.
