Camilla Barnes-Kelley was born in upstate NY. She spent many years working as an outdoor educator in the western mountains of the US before settling in Boise, Idaho to teach K-9th grade and raise her daughter. Currently working for the Global Village School, an international online K-12 school, she applied for the fellowship so that she could learn skills to better contribute at the local level. She looks forward to a world where differences are celebrated and recognized as strengths. As part of the fellowship, she is hoping to learn about herself and the role she can play in social justice. In her free time, she is exploring music (listening, playing guitar or discovering her voice), moving her body (biking, hiking, climbing, or dancing), or curled up with a book and a cup of hot coffee.
