Alicia Benavides Davila, born and raised in beautiful Idaho, works in Boise and could never see herself leaving the gem state. Aside from work, Alicia is active in her local union, IBEW local 291, in Boise, Idaho. As part of her local union, Alicia is one of many stewards at her job, she is the President of local 291 Women’s Committee, and a member of the Boise Trades and Central Labor Council where she acts as a delegate from her local union. Alicia applied for the fellowship program because she has a passion for human and worker rights and the program mentioned increasing diversity and developing for the long term that benefits all of Idaho. What Alicia hopes to gain from this program is a clear understanding of Idahoans’ needs, continue to develop leadership skills, strengthen listening skills, and eventually serve on a board or commission as this program is intended.
