2024 Mentor: Mary Beth Nutting

Mary Beth Nutting has been involved in the outdoor industry since 1988. She recently celebrated her thirty-one year anniversary as an R.E.I. (Recreational Equipment Incorporated) employee. In addition to working at R.E.I., Mary Beth works at Boise Public Library. The combination of these two jobs allows her to share two of her life’s passions with others – spending time outdoors and reading.

Mary Beth serves on the Bicycle Advisory Council for the Ada County Highway District. She is a member of the Regional Advisory Council for Valley Regional Transit and is a member of the Canals Connect Community Coalition. Mary Beth is a former board member for the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance and for the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council.

Mary Beth encourages and empowers others to be involved in their communities and likes to remind people that it doesn’t take a huge lift to make a difference, but that it is a succession of small acts that contribute to making a positive change in the world.
