2024 Fellow: Heather Colwell


Heather Colwell is an owner of a local marketing company and a graduate student, earning her Masters of Public Administration degree at Boise State University. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, she is passionate about creating positive and impactful change within her community while helping others do the same.

With a foundational educational background studying Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy, and Law from the University of Idaho, she has honed her skills in campaign management, marketing, community organizing, and strategic operations in the field.

Heather has joined this program to deepen her understanding of how boards and commissions play a critical role in empowering the public to collectively solve issues within her community. She intends to use this education to promote civic engagement in her home state.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys creating art, organizing her community for causes that matter, and exploring all of the natural wonders that Idaho has to offer.
