Conservation Voters for Idaho board of directors appoints Rialin Flores as acting executive director.
As chair of Conservation Voters for Idaho’s board of directors, I am proud to announce that we have appointed Rialin Flores as the acting executive director for the organization.
Many of you know Rialin for her outstanding work as CVI’s Program Director. Rialin has been a proven leader at Conservation Voters for Idaho and has helped CVI pass and defend critical conservation laws, manage our programmatic staff, and implement organizational strategies and policy during the Idaho legislative sessions.
We are confident Rialin’s strong leadership skills, qualifications, and nonprofit expertise will carry the incredible momentum CVI has built well into 2020 and beyond.
Starting this week, Rialin will serve as the acting executive director. As many of you are aware, Courtney Washburn resigned from the position effective Jan. 7, 2020 to begin her new role as chief of staff for Boise Mayor-elect Lauren McLean who was sworn into office earlier this week.Conservation Voters for Idaho has so much to be proud of. This year marks our 15th anniversary as the only political conservation organization in the state of Idaho that can participate in electoral politics. We enjoy a robust and diverse membership spanning passionate conservationists from around the state, a talented and hard-working staff, and a deeply committed, all-volunteer board.
In recent years, we elected an Idaho Governor who values public lands and our working collaboratives, secured Idaho’s clean energy future by working with Idaho cities, utilities and counties to make 100% clean energy commitments, and elected a Boise mayor who will champion the issues we most care about – conserving open space, protecting clean air and water, and expanding public transportation.
We have bigger plans for 2020, and we look forward to continuing to uphold our unique role in protecting the places you love, defending and expanding voter rights, and electing strong conservation champions to office.
